Founded in 2015, Root uses an app to rate drivers based on their demographic information and how they drive. Customers first take a “Test Drive” to let Root’s app track your driving behavior for several weeks. The better driving behaviors you have, the better quote you get. Root has weeded bad drivers out to allow customers to take advantages of lower rates.
Root has a funtional website with many features and informationl contents, and its policies are entirely based on Root’s app. Customers can use the app to view their policy documents, pay bills, file claims, etc.

They scam people! They intentionally do not provide financial documents before the purchase of the policy. Once the policy is purchased they will come out the blue with hidden fees. It is truly a waste of money and time. Save yourself the trouble and do NOT purchase anything from them! They lack accountability, anytime a problem is brought to their attention they will make excuses! The purchase of their policy is undeniably one of my biggest regrets for 2023
