Renters Insurance

In Stranger Things, is renters insurance going to cover Joyce's wall?

In Stranger Things season 1 episode 4, Joyce smashes down her wall to save her son Will from the "upside down" and thus leaves a big hole in the wall. Is Joyce’s renters insurance policy going to cover this cost?

In most cases, it’s the landlord’s responsibility to fix the hole on the wall or any other damage to the unit itself. However, it's vital to remember that intentional damage is almost never covered by the renters insurance or the landlord's insurance. Since Joyce deliberately smashes down her wall, she’s going to have to cover the full cost of the damage by herself. In a real-life case, the cost of the wall repair would have been around $2040.
